Bird that hasteth to the snare

 

Pro 7:22  He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

Pro 7:23  Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

 

 

The wicked are not escaped from the snare (their own trap) …

Jer 5:26  For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

 

Speaking of Jerusalem …

Jer 5:27  As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

Rev 18:2  And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

 

Babylon has merchandise … souls of men

Rev 18:11  And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

Rev 18:12  The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

Rev 18:13  And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

 

Birds = people

Ecc 9:12  For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time[dhh1] , when it falleth suddenly upon them.

 

 

Jer 18:22  Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.

Jer 18:23  Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger.

 

Pro 29:5  A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

What exactly is the snare?

Pro 6:2  Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.

Pro 18:7  A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

Pro 12:13  The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

Psa 64:8  So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.

 

Does the strange woman snare with her lips? … Yes indeed

Pro 7:21  With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

The elect are escaped …

Psa 124:7  Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
